The main difference between the old and the new model of Smart Tweezers is a 4-wire connection (Kelvin probe) brought up to the gold-plated tweezers tips.
This significantly reduces noise and therefore improves accuracy at least 6 times.

The new model also features charging via installed USB port. In contrast to the previous model using NiMH battery, Li-Ion battery is used increasing the battery life considerably.

Features introduced in the new model are: Automatic Offset Subtraction, Component Sorting and Designated ESR Measurement.

Eliminated features are: DC and AC Voltage measurements.

The Model ST-AS with not rechargeable batteries was discontinued due to the shortage of suppliers of few key components. We had to re-engineer the SMT Smart Tweezers to cope with the long term supply of the key components.

Now we have a much better (six time more accurate) LCR Meter than ever before.

It is the Model ST-5-AS rechargeable via USB port.
